We are fortunate to have a patron of our school who once worked for the WWF. He has told us that he will walk us through the process of getting us certified. We have a ‘bird village’ area set aside for development in the spring, as well as a butterfly garden. We are also creating a path that will connect our space to an existing nature path. Along the path we are developing we plan to place squirrel feeders and an animal feeder bucket for passing deer. He will be directing and guiding us through this! We are blessed!
I can feel the energy bubbling! Awesome!
It would be very cool to have our space certified! We’re a long ways off from that, but that could be our long-term goal.
This is great ! I didn’t know I could also get my back yard certify ! I’m still a long way from being able to get it certify (and we might be moving soon….) but it’s good to know 🙂 As soon as I’m back in school teaching, my plan is to gather people to start a committee and this course really showed me the importance of keeping track of everything (before and after picture, binder with all the records of who is volunteering, our sponsors, our events and activities, possible grants, etc.) I really enjoyed this e-course and I will bring all my ideas to my school in September 🙂 My husband is also a teacher and we are at the same school. I talked to him a lot about this course and he, with the help of 2 other teachers, have already started working on ideas for an outdoor classroom. They have also found a partnership with a university close by who already have an outdoor classroom and they will come meet our children and help them to get things started ! I hate that I’m missing all of that but I LOVE that I’m still at home with my babies hehe 🙂 Thanks for everything Victoria !
FABULOUS!!! FABULOUS!! FABULOUS!! I love your energy and can’t wait to see pictures of your both your Outdoor Classrooms at your school and current and new home! Thank you for the kind words! Thrilled you are inspired!
Great tips for grant funding. I enjoyed all the videos. So excited to incorporate more ideas into our outdoor play space. Thank you, Michelle Morse, East Bridgewater, Ma
I hope you are filled with ‘seeds of inspiration.” If you have pictures to send–I would love to see them.
I downloaded the information on NWF certification – it is now a goal for our new school! Thank you for all of the great resources, information and inspiration!
You are most welcome! I am inspired by your energy and enthusiasm!
