The Teacher certification program is amazing. I looked at a few programs and this was the best fit for me. The design of the program is what makes it unique. Going through each module, to live talks, and being able to talk with other educators to bounce ideas off. When the idea of a capstone project was brought up I was a little nervous. But Victoria guides you through the process. I was so excited, and proud of myself. I have an amazing book to help me throughout the years, and it will help to keep the program sustainable. The Outdoor Classroom Teacher Certification Program was so worthwhile. It was for me the culmination of so many classes, workshops, and great group discussions over the past several years. My Capstone Project was a mock-up of a book that I continue to work on, which will be titled Into the Woods, Little Ones: My Journey toward Teaching Outdoors. My cohort of wonderful educators, led by Victoria, helped me to organize the project to the point where I now feel it is a book that people will enjoy. Victoria is a wonderful trainer, mentor, and friend.

Taking the Outdoor Classrooms Teaching Certification Masterclass was an incredibly enriching experience that deepened my passion for nature-based education. The course offered valuable tools, fresh inspiration, and a supportive community that encouraged me to think creatively and intentionally about outdoor learning. It was always a pleasure to join the live sessions and connect with like-minded colleagues. Victoria guided us with warmth and wisdom, consistently supporting us as a cohort and generously sprinkling seeds of knowledge along the way. Now, with a wealth of resources at my fingertips, I feel confident and ready to initiate Outdoor Teaching Gardens.

For my capstone project, “The Importance of Observational Drawing with Preschoolers, I explored how slowing down and truly seeing the natural world through art fosters curiosity, mindfulness, and deeper connections in young children. This journey not only enriched my teaching practice but also reaffirmed the joy and transformative power of learning alongside children in nature.
