I really enjoyed your workshop. The training gave me lots of ideas that I can incorporate into my outdoor space. I purchased snow bibs for my childcare program, since the parents would send their children in spring/fall clothes. No hats, gloves, just light jackets. Its 20 or colder outside. (sorry for rant). I have an area in the back yard that has lots of trees. Over the past few years, I have been cleaning out the dead and hung up plastic streamer wind chimes. The children love that. However, I like your idea of mixing bird seed, water and pipe cleaner to feed the birds. Another idea is having the children take tree limbs and make their own tree, or whole punching leaves. All of your ideas were inspiring. My problem is I have ideas but do them sporadically which doesn’t go with anything. (I hope that makes sense). I am going to use your idea of themes as a starting point. I can’t wait to do your other classes.
HI Christy. Wonderful reflections and great rant. Always good to get your frustrations out with educators that totally get it. I’m thrilled the workshop gave you a jumping-off point and more great ideas. If you are interested in other workshops, I would highly recommend checking out our CIRCLE membership. As a member, you get access to the entire library and so much more. Here is more info. https://dig.outdoor-classrooms.com/the-circle-our-membership/ Keep us posted on your developments. Keep up the awesome work!
