A WELCOME GARDEN

CHANGING PLANTS WITH THE SEASONS

Are you a garden coordinator preparing for your first group of kids to come to your Outdoor Classroom? What is the first thing your children will see? Is there a clear entrance to the garden? Or a garden that welcomes visitors? What do you want your children to feel upon arriving? Curiosity? Wonder? Interest?

In my Outdoor Classrooms Learning Lab, I am preparing for a busy season. I needed to create a Welcome Garden under a huge tree. Not an ideal space for growing plants. Creating a container garden with terra cotta pots was the perfect solution. This type of garden allows me to grow and change the plants with the seasons. How much fun is that?! I love how it turned out and can’t wait to see how it evolves.

WELCOME!
