Growing an

Outdoor Learning Lab

Do you ever feel like you never get to the point of completion in your Outdoor Classroom? Creating Outdoor Classrooms takes time. I have been slowly transforming my backyard into an Outdoor Learning Lab. I am not there yet. There are more signs to add and area’s to clean up. Gardening work is endless and I could spend countless hours fine tuning. to perfection. I have come to realize there is beauty in the imperfection; therefore, choosing to celebrate the process. So here goes…Enjoy!

This is so beautiful! I can’t wait to be able to grow a garden like this. Unfortunately at the moment I live in the city, right by the MassPike with absolutely no outdoors space. Soon my apartment will get a new deck, and I can’t wait to start my own little garden and compost!

Love it! I have a sign up that says “Bee Blvd.” at my 2 hives. I want to set up a weather station in a nature play area at River Oaks (an EE program I work with besides Cupboard Creek Farm where I live)…anyone do something like this on our forum?

We are closed for summer but I took a ride to school and and snapped these photos. The red salvia is doing pretty well without care. When we planted them, the children found a worm. One worm was not enough to entertain 12 children so we talked about what worms like. The children decided to pour water in the garden to make mud. In seconds the worms crawled up to find the water and before we know if there were several worms on the surface. Instant
    wormville!
